Remembering Casey Kasem Wildest Antics In The Studio: We Take A Raucus Ride

Kemal Amin "Casey" Kasem was an American icon. He was a celebrated disc jockey, iconic animated voice over artist, radio personality extraordinaire and of the most recognized voices in the broadcasting industry. He was best known as the host of American Top 40 and also the voice of Shaggy on the cartoon show Scooby Doo.

We just lost Casey on June 15, 2014. But what most people don’t know is that a collection of bloopers have been circulating around on the web that features him literally sitting on the edge of sanity ready to fall over. The clips run from the challenging,
( a death dedication to a little dog named “Snuggles” ) to the insane, ( reading radio promos ). Kasem blows his lines, flubs up with tongue twisters and flies off the rails in a tyrannical rage…. A feast for the senses.

The best of these rants have been cut up, sliced and diced and sprinkled across the Internet and on bootleg tapes for the last two decades. Samples of them have appeared on the Indy band, Negativeland where Kasem screws up an intro while introducing the Irish band u2. Kasem introduces them as the letter U and the numeral 2 and then slips off into a rage fueled rant. U2 followed up with these musical antics by slapping a lawsuit onto Negativeland and all three of them all went down into history.

We here at Hot Metro Finds pride ourselves on providing you with cultural awareness on all levels. Here is our loving tribute the iconic broadcaster of our times.
